HEALTHPLAN SERVICES ADDS NEW ASSOCIATE TO EXPAND DATA CENTER OUTSOURCING

TAMPA, FL - May 21, 2002 - HEALTHPLAN SERVICES, INC., Tampa, Florida - May 21, 2002 - HealthPlan Services, Inc. has recruited Grant Norwood as their new Director of Technology Business Development. Norwood will lead the HPS data center outsourcing team to offer cutting-edge technology solutions to outside organizations throughout the country.

"This is an exciting opportunity to tap into a growing revenue channel," said Norwood. "Executives across all industries have discovered the benefits of outsourcing non-core functions like data processing. They're eager to bring on outsourcing specialists as partners once they realize the significant cost savings and the superior resources gained."

Although HPS currently offers administrative solutions to selected carriers, this latest effort will focus exclusively on data center and technology solutions outsourcing.

Norwood recently was employed by AmQUEST Inc., in Atlanta, as the Senior Manager of Business Development.

"Saving companies money is one of our strengths," said Steve Hulslander, HPS's Executive Vice President and CIO. "Grant's hiring will help leverage our established in-house data center to outside businesses - helping them reduce client expenses while strengthening daily operations."

HealthPlan Services' leading edge technology and industry knowledge combine to offer superior service and versatility for over 100,000 businesses and 1.5 million members nationwide. Thirty years of experience provide a track record as one of the country's leading third party administrators.
